As if you are a bird
With a broken wing,
I love you as a trope

Stripper with a limp,
You indicate evolution
And the complexity
Of evolution

Your existence
And condition point
Toward my own

In this darkened room
The rays of our
Lifelines
Intersect at a vertex
Of deadened discomfort

I sit contemplating
The wounded hip,
Bare nipples—

Wounded/empowered
Human soul
